Just a quick update… The NB Super Team 33 fish sneakers I wrote about a few weeks ago are coming out in 2 days! It also looks like a lot of the shops carrying them are going to have release parties. For example, my hometown sneaker shop, The 400 plans to have “hors d’oeuvres and beer on tap!” Are there any two things people love more?
More information and high-quality pictures at Xymon, including a listing of all 33 stores who will be releasing the shoes.

Remember when I said that I thought the Court Force Hi is one of Nike’s best shoes? Well, it looks like I’m an idiot. They are clearly the worst of this abomination of a pack, and the Dunks and Air Maxes aren’t much better. At least they only use two (three, if you’re being technical) and one animal prints, respectively, and exhibit some sort of unity.

These shoes are an abysmal grab bag of several features that are near-incredible individually but are offensive to all those with reasonable taste when combined.
Gore Tex? Keeps your feet dry, who can complain!
3M reflective? Hottest trend of 2007!
Patent leather? Too fresh!
Transparent sea foam green soles? Undeniable!
Blue to yellow gradients? Everyone loves them!
Rainbows? Throw a couple on there!
Red, white, and blue laces? America rules!
These shoes are the footwear equivalent of when you tried to combine EVERY SINGLE ONE of your favorite foods as a child only to find that, while individually delicious, when combined, they are gag-inducing. Good Lord, these are horrible, and I can only pray that they remain a sample forever.

I have nothing to add about these since my last post on them… Click the pic above to make it just a lil’ bit bigger.

There’s really not too much to say about these. Apparently they are going by the nickname “Wood”—only God knows why, since they’re clearly ostrich—and they’re only a sample so far. I definitely wouldn’t mind seeing these go into production, they are looking pretty fresh and very wearable… Take notice of the double-layered swoosh.
Where, oh where could these pictures be from? NikeSB.org, perhaps?

So here we have the Nike SB P-Rod II’s. It would make sense that Nike would bring some strong colors to the table with a new model, and that appears to be exactly what they’ve done. I’m especially feeling the White/Yellow/Blue/ Red/Gray (!) ones pictured above. Now I know that I said the rainbow New Balances were ridiculous, and they still are. I think these P-Rods go just about as far as I can tolerate in terms of color, which is a very good thing. I’m much more a fan of things that are just near the edge of my comfort zone than I am things that are completely normal.
As far as the shoes in this picture go, I’m feeling the Black/Gray ones. The Green/Brown ones also look very nice, especially because of the gum sole. I’m not so sure about the Brown/Orange ones, though… Pretty boring color combination, if you ask me.
Eh. These are okay. Yeah, black and gold is a pretty classic combo, but things that are classic usually aren’t very exciting.

Not so sure how to feel about these. Well, I’m positive as to how I feel about the rainbow ones: Ridiculous. But I feel like the yellow and orange colorways are pretty tight. I think the use of fishscale is pretty awesome, too. The part that gets me, though, is the toebox. I think that the scale treatment they gave them is really a bit much.
Regardless, I’ve always been a fan of New Balance, and I definitely can’t say that they disappoint with these Super Team 33 1400’s… Just that I’m not sure if I’d cop them myself.

What’s the word? Think they went too far with the fishiness? Not far enough!? Do you actually like those rainbow ones!?!?

These are looking real fresh…
The one thing I didn’t like about the original Boardflip is where the Ice Cream icon (the ice cream cone and bones, in this case) was placed. I think this style is much, much better, with the icon on the heel. The only thing I worry about with these is how two-tone versions will look. Looks like maybe the white and green ones have some other accents, but they’re not visible.
Anyway, these shoes embody what I really like about Ice Cream: Simple, fresh design that still manages to push the limits of style through color. Nice work on these, Pharrell (!).

I don’t have time to write about the whole collection now—and I’m not entirely sure I’ll want to in the future—but I just wanted to say: DAMN! Those are some hard-lookin’ dudes! Seriously. I don’t think I’ve ever seen two meaner men in my life.
